Any one of you.

Luke 14:33, So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.

The strength that we have is largely imagined, as I was reminded yesterday in preparing for a medical procedure which involves a day long fast with a cleansing electrolyte imbalance flush! When we are healthy, we can imagine that will always be the case, but when we are struck with a sudden illness, we know how fragile our existence is. Paul said “when I am weak, then I am strong.” He did many miracles whereby others were healed and yet remarkably, when he plead three times for relief from his own infirmity, he was told “My power is made perfect in weakness.” Do we recognize that all that we have and all we ever will be comes from the Lord and we are only stewards for a brief time?

We thank you for all you have given us; use all that we are and have for your glory, Lord!
