Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Luke 12:32-34, Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

We have trouble with this idea, especially in today’s consumer oriented world. Are we faith driven or fear driven when it comes to our spending habits? I know that it’s much easier to ignore this advice and satisfy my current desires with things that will ultimately come to nothing. Jesus is pointing us towards the path of faith, to build up treasure where it really counts so that our hearts are drawn in that direction!

Give us your perspective on all that we do, that we may build treasure where it really counts!
