Men should pray.

1 Timothy 2:8, I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;...

Paul mentions elsewhere the practice of kneeling in prayer, and now he mentions lifting holy hands. Somehow this has been lost in public worship but there’s no reason not to do adopt the posture. And his desire is clearly directed at men, for the rest of the verse addresses women, and certainly not meaning that women shouldn’t pray! Of course, time isn’t everything, we are also encouraged to weave prayer into our daily lives, to “pray without ceasing.” But are we really spending enough time on our knees or lifting holy hands in prayer? Could we convert some of our otherwise less productive activities into prayer time? Has your child or other family member ever interrupted you in prayer because you’re spending that much time with it?

We want to know you more fully through the amazing world of prayer, as one of my teacher has quoted, “the thin nerve that moves the muscle of omnipotence!”
