According to His promise.

2 Peter 3:13-14, But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.

Peter asks us to consider that since all the reality that we see around us will one day be dissolved, what sort of people we ought to be in lives of holiness and godliness? We don’t have to wait for the new heavens and new earth; He is ready to give us the power to live in His strength today, no matter what we face. Are we seeking to supplement our “faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love?”

We need Your help to grow in this way; give us Your strength as we draw one day closer to Your new heavens and new earth.
