My Redeemer lives!

Job 19:25-27, “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will take His stand on the earth. Even after my skin is destroyed, yet from my flesh I shall see God; whom I myself shall behold, and whom my eyes will see and not another. My heart faints within me!”

Even on the other side of the cross, Job knew that we have a Redeemer, and that He is alive, real, eternal and efficacious! Even though our flesh is dead in sin, He has given us His Spirit that we may set our minds on the things of the Spirit. Even though we, like Paul, do not do the things that we want to do, this very knowledge shows us that we are alive in Christ because we want to do what is right. He who gives us life in the Spirit is always there as our faithful High Priest, the One who has been tempted in every way, and who is sympathetic to our weaknesses. By His power we can boldly enter before His throne of grace, that we might receive mercy in our time of need!

We come boldly before Your throne of grace knowing that we can receive mercy in our time of need, Lord!
