I fell at His feet as a dead man.

Revelation 1:17, And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as a dead man. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

Christ came the first time in complete abandonment of His glory; when He returns He will come in His glory. As the psalmist wrote, that He is so powerful and glorious that were He to appear all nations would give Him feigned honor, even though they do not believe. Even in His glorious state, He reaches out to us with the words “Do not be afraid!”

We thank You that we are able to consider ourselves dead to sin by Your full sacrifice on the cross; and that You breathe Your new life into us by the power of Your promised Holy Spirit. “Breathe on me, breath of God!”
