The Lord had caused them to rejoice.
Ezra 6:22, And they observed the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy, for the LORD had caused them to rejoice, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria toward them to encourage them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
Things looked really black with the extreme opposition. Then the letter written into to very annals of the conquers decades before comes to light at just the right time, authorizing not only the rebuilding of the temple, but paying the costs out of the royal treasury and restoring the gold and silver utensils that were taken into exile! When God provides, His provision is super-abundant!
We thank You for Your superabundant provision, especially for all that You have provided in Christ Jesus!
