Take note of their threats.

Acts 4:29-31, “And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Thy bond-servants may speak Thy word with all confidence, while Thou dost extend Thy hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Thy holy servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak the word of God with boldness.

We live in a world of risk; we spend a lot of time and energy avoiding risk or mitigating risk with insurance. These disciples of Jesus recognize that the real risk is not in what man may do to us, but in missing out on what God wants to do with us. And as they prayed, He was faithful to pour out the gift of boldness through His Holy Spirit. What could happen when we pray like that?

We pray that You will indeed shake us and empower us with Your boldness, Lord.
