In no way be alarmed by your opponents.
Philippians 1:27-30, Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ; so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; in no way alarmed by your opponents—which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that too, from God. For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
Jesus tells us that no one can come to Him unless the Father who sent Him draws him. We are not the ones who draw others to God, but we are to be empowered by the Holy Spirit that we may be witnesses to all the Jesus has done for us. The power of the gospel is in the cross, which is foolishness to the world, but to those of us who are being saved “it is the power of God.” If Paul and all the early disciples suffered, should we be surprised if that happens to us?
We thank You that we can trust You even in suffering and conflict, Lord Jesus.
