That the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God.

2 Corinthians 7:10, But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

There are some who say that coming to Jesus will put an end to all problems and that only blessings will abound. That doesn’t really fit well with scripture like this that shows the reality of Paul’s life. Yet no matter what was happening, he was able to see it as an opportunity for the power to come from God, that He might receive all the glory. When we meet up with these conditions Paul described, how will we see Jesus?

Than You that You promise to be with us in every situation; we give all glory to You, Lord.
