All who are in authority.
1 Timothy 2:1-4, First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Paul makes it clear that we are to pray for those who are in our government for the purpose of seeing peace that others may come to be saved. If he urged prayer for those in power in his day in a form of government that we would probably not like, we can certainly pray today. It would be interesting to know what would happen if all the complaints and whining that we hear today was changed into prayer for those in authority.
Remind me to pray when I am tempted to complain; thank You for the form of government that we have that certainly needs our prayer today.
