Our adequacy is from God.

2 Corinthians 3:5-6, Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

This perspective about our adequacy is wonderful. It’s like our salvation by faith alone; it is a mystery, a gift of His amazing grace. What an amazing freedom we can have when we recognize that on our own we are completely inadequate to His work and that all of our adequacy and effectiveness is in Him. He can do amazing things when we bring our simple loaves and fish to Him and allow Him to bless them, to break them that we might distribute them to many.

Use me in Your work each day; let me do all my work as unto You!
