Double honor.

1 Timothy 5:17-18, Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, “YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE THE OX WHILE HE IS THRESHING,” and “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”

We recognize professions that require more knowledge with higher pay. By this standard those in ministry should be paid the most, for their knowledge is of eternal value. And depending on where your treasure is kept, this could be true, for their treasure shall never be lost. While it's certainly true that we should pay our elders well now, the rewards that the world gives are short term compared to eternity!

Show us how to build our treasure in heaven that our hearts may be there also!
