The work of God.
John 6:29-30, Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” They said therefore to Him, “What then do You do for a sign, that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform?”
We have a better perspective on Him than they did; if you’re going to believe in someone, believe in the One who rises from the dead. They were able to see Him with their own eyes, to witness the miracles He performed and still wanted more signs. We might fall into the same trap, seeking after feelings or some experience we have had in coming to know Him. Yet what He asks is simplicity itself, to believe in Him. And as we believe and seek to follow Him and to know Him better, He will lead us in His paths of righteousness, to those good works that He has prepared beforehand that we should walk in them!
Thank You for the conviction You bring to remind us that we are Yours by faith alone, and even that is Your gift, to lead us to Your good works!
