Instruments of righteousness.

Romans 6:12-14, Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.

Do we really see ourselves as instruments of righteousness? And how does that play out in our lives? How do I present myself to God as one alive from the dead? Do I give thanks for everything that He has done, for a hot shower and a good night’s sleep? How much more has He done by His grace in Jesus Christ, who has sent us His Holy Spirit? For I know that I need His power every moment that sin shall not be my master.

Lord, I present myself to you, made alive in Christ; show me the ways to function as an instrument of Your righteousness!
