Give grace.

Ephesians 4:29, Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Complaining and gossip seems to be a habit with many people. It’s very easy to get drawn into these discussions and throw in a few choice words. He wants to give us the strength, that we may not grieve the Holy Spirit. James rightly challenges us to control our tongue, and to let it be a spring of fresh, living water!

Give me insight when I am tempted to join in with complaining or gossip; give my the grace to see how to build others up in the “need of the moment.”
