This hope we have as an anchor of the soul.
Hebrews 6:17-20, In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, in order that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have strong encouragement, we who have fled for refuge in laying hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
There are lots of things in this world in which people put their hope. Anything in this world is obviously transient, and ultimately hopeless. We have put our hope in Jesus Christ, who has gone where we could never go, to the cross, who is risen from the dead, and seated at the right hand of the Father. He is even now our high priest, interceding for us; what better hope could we have?
I need Your intercession in ways that I don’t even know; I put all my hope in You, Lord Jesus!
