It continued to increase.

Acts 9:31, So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and, going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.

The horrific persecution is followed by a season of peace and edification for the new church in that region. There are two factors at work in continuing to increase: the fear of the Lord, not fear of man and the comfort of the Holy Spirit, not the comfort of the world. His ways are indeed amazing.

We meditate on this, Lord; thank You for all that You have given us. Help us to be good stewards in advancing Your kingdom!
