They saw him and were amazed.

Acts 12:16, But Peter continued knocking; and when they had opened the door, they saw him and were amazed.

We read of the amazing healing of Hezekiah and the promise of fifteen years to his life, of Jesus raising the dead son of the widow of Nain, and now of Peter’s astonishing release from prison, chains that fell way binding him to two guards at an Angel’s command, walking past two sets of guards and out into the street. Surely there is nothing that God cannot do that is "impossible" in this world. What is encouraging is that behind the scene there was a prayer group, who had enough faith to pray for Peter’s release, but apparently not quite enough to believe that it actually had happened! What power might be released when we pray believing that God can do what man cannot?

We thank You that You are not very far from every one of us, that You hear our mustard seed faith prayers and that You have such amazing power to move mountains!
