The way of escape.

1 Corinthians 10:10-13, Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.

We are reminded of the mistakes of those who left the bondage of Egyptian slavery to enter the promised land, which included craving of "evil things", idolatry, immorality, and "trying the Lord." Right up there with these examples is grumbling and complaining. It’s hard to go a day without hearing someone complaining, and the temptation is to join in! Certainly our security is in Jesus Christ, and we have this wonderful promise, that along with the temptation that is all around is the way of escape!

We claim Your promise; open our eyes to Your way of escape.
