The reason you are mistaken.
Mark 12:24, Jesus said to them, "Is this not the reason you are mistaken, that you do not understand the Scriptures, or the power of God?"
Those questioning Jesus really thought they had a way to stump Him. Instead of trying to figure out an unanswerable question, perhaps they could have listened to Him and asked Him to open the scriptures to them? We can get caught up in traps like this, trying to figure it all out. The best part is that we can ask Him to open our hearts and our minds to receive the truth of scripture as we read. And we can trust in the amazing power of God, that raised Jesus from the dead, to do amazing things that bring glory to His name.
We thank You for opening our minds to scripture; come Holy Spirit, bring the power of God for this day in our lives to bring glory to the name of the Father.
