And they were scolding her.

Mark 14:5, "For this perfume might have been sold for over three hundred denarii, and the money given to the poor." And they were scolding her."
Isn't it interesting how much focus there is on money in these passages?

First, we have this woman, who Jesus says will be remembered for anointing Him for burial wherever the gospel is preached, then we have Judas who agreed to betray Him for money. The people were far too ready to condemn her, but Jesus affirms her; her values were on an eternal scale!


Lord, keep us focused on what is really important, for we are so easily distracted by temporary values.
