He delivered Jesus to their will.
Luke 23:25, And he released the man they were asking for who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, but he delivered Jesus to their will.
We somehow think that perhaps we would have been different, that we would have recognized Him and not joined with the crowd shouting "Crucify Him." We are more like Peter than we think. Even Pilate and Herod proclaimed His innocence, and yet we see in this passage that He was doing exactly what He came to do, to set captives free, taking the wrath reserved for us all. What an amazing plan, conceived and delivered by our Almighty God!
We are in awe of Your amazing plan, of the great gift You have given us in Jesus Christ and Him crucified to set us free!
