Weep day and night.

Jeremiah 9:1, Oh, that my head were waters, and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

Most of what we read in these passages recounts the unfaithfulness of God’s people, the lies and deceit, the idolatry of that time. Even though they came under God’s judgment, ultimately carried away to foreign lands, His heart longed for His people. Jesus, looking out over the city not long before He was cruelly crucified wept over her. And even today, the heart of God cries out, "not wanting that any should perish.'

We are in awe of Your compassion, O Lord; give us Your compassion for those who need You.
