In fact.

1 Corinthians 15:20, But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

There are still were those who are deceived into thinking that this world is all there is, that there is nothing beyond the grave, that we are only a batch of well organized chemicals that melt away into nothing. After Christ was crucified, He rose from the dead leaving a well guarded and sealed tomb empty and appeared to over five hundred witnesses over the next few months. And even then, not all believed! It’s not that we have a soul, but that we are souls having a temporary physical body. Christ is raised as the firstfruit; we are heirs of this promise to be raised from the dead incorruptible at His return, in the twinkling of an eye, the dead in Christ shall rise imperishable, transformed to be with Him! How now should be live in view of all this?

Guide us in Your steps to bring glory to Your name in all that we do and say, considering the hope that You have given us in the risen Christ!
