A command of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 14:37, If anyone thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that the things I am writing to you are a command of the Lord.

In our culture, we don’t much like the idea of commandments of a sovereign King. Jesus made it clear the His kingdom is not of the world, and that whoever has His commandments and does them is one who loves Him. And Samuel tells us that “to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen is better than the fat of rams.” As we ask expectantly for the Lord’s guidance, always in the light of revealed scripture, have we made up our minds to obey His commands?

Guard us from the way the seems right to us, but the end thereof is destruction; let us walk in Your light, O Lord! We thank You that Your commands are not burdensome, and that Your give us the power to obey!
