Come to my house and stay.
Acts 16:14-15, One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. And after she was baptized, and her household as well, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us.
Lydia heard the good news, and the Lord opened her heart. Her faithful response is to be baptized, and then to open her home to those who had brought her the good news. The good news received produces a transformation of the heart and an outpouring of gifts. Hers was a gift of hospitality, what good gifts has the Lord given each of us?
Give us opportunities to use the gifts You have so richly given us to proclaim Your good news and to bring glory to Your name, O Lord!
