“Do whatever he tells you.”

John 2:4-5, And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Jesus makes it clear that he is about his Father’s business, not his mother’s. How often do we make the same kind of request of him, thinking of our own selfish interest and wanting things to happen right now. His mother recognizes his sovereignty over the situation asking the servants to follow his instructions. How much better would it be for us to be about our Father’s business for his ways are above our ways, his thoughts above our thoughts and his timing is perfect!

Fill us with your Holy Spirit and guide us with your light today, that we may be about your business, O Lord!
