“Where is the guest room?”

Luke 22:10-13, He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house that he enters and tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ And he will show you a large upper room furnished; prepare it there.” And they went and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

How many of us could handle what the owner of this guest room did? We don’t know exactly how he was prepared, or even who he was, but we do know that he was used powerfully by the Lord in providing the place for this last supper. Scripture is clear that some have even entertained angels unaware; the master of this house was visited by the Son of God and the Apostles who would change the world forever! Are we open to the leading and guiding of the Spirit that we might be as available as this homeowner was?

Give us discernment to know when you are calling us to serve your purpose; help us to be good stewards with all that you have provided to bring glory to your name, O Lord!
