To such belongs the kingdom of God.

Luke 18:15-17, Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

It seems that the culture of that day did not place much weight on infants, or on Jesus ability to bless them. He wanted them to come to him just as others did. And he makes it clear that we also must come in like a child to enter his kingdom. The religious leaders of his day mistook their own self-righteousness as being of prime importance; Jesus ask that we come to him as a child, empty handed, expectant to receive all that he has for us!

Give us more of this wonderful child-like faith as we put our trust in you!
