Hosanna in the highest!
Matthew 21:9-10, And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?” And the crowds said, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”
This crowd with Jesus had seen the amazing works Jesus had done including raising Lazarus from a three-day old grave! They were rightly praising him as Messiah, the one worthy of prophet, priest and King. And even though the city was stirred up at this, those who are blind to his message abound and they would soon cry “Crucify Him!” Indeed, every one must answer this question, who is he? Do we know him as Lord, as the promised Messiah, fully God and fully Son of Man, the Prince of Peace, the King of King and Lord of Lords?
We recognize you as Messiah, and bow to your Lordship; direct our paths, stir up our affections for you!
