A sharp disagreement.
Acts 15:39a, And there arose a sharp disagreement, so that they separated from each other.
It’s great that the Bible tells us what happened between Paul and Barnabas and that there was a sharp disagreement between them over taking John Mark on the next journey. And they both continued in the faith, sharing the gospel, with no disagreement there, but diverged over the methods used for the journey. We also know that Paul’s feelings toward the young John Mark, who had apparently abandoned them before, were later resolved. Are we able to disagree with others without being disagreeable? In this case, the Lord used this so that the gospel went out in two directions at the same time!
Help us to continue in the faith, to love each other even when we disagree about methods, that your good news may go out unhindered!
