Born through promise.

Galatians 4:21-23, Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman and one by a free woman. But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise.

Just as Abraham was to lay aside all hope in the flesh, we are to do the same. He had been given the promise of his own offspring, and when they considered the facts, that Sarah womb was “as good as dead,” they decided to have a son by the slave woman. But God had not forgotten his promise and Sarah did indeed and bring forth Isaac, the son of the promise. We have no hope in our own flesh, only that we can’t measure up to the perfection required by the law before a Holy God. We have instead put all of our trust in the Son of God, the offspring, the son of the promise. For when he sets us free, we are free indeed, born through promise!

Stir our affections for you today as we seek to know you more and more and you continue to work through us!
