The promise by faith.
Galatians 3:21, But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
The promise, as Paul notes, was given first to Adam for the offspring that would crush the head of the enemy and later to Abraham that through his offspring he would bless all the nations of the earth. The law came later, to make it clear that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” If all that we have is a book of rules that convicts us before a just and Holy God, we are hopeless. But God in his great mercy has fulfilled his promise of the offspring in Jesus Christ so that we who receive him by faith are children of the promise!
We receive Christ Jesus and enter into your new covenant by faith, the new land of promise!
