That the world might be saved through Him.

John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

What kind of love is this who, “though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.” “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

What amazing love you have shown us, enduring such hostility and shame, that we might be saved and have eternal life. Let us run with endurance the race set before us by Your power!
