And He opened his eyes.
Mark 8:22-25, And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man and begged him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?”And he looked up and said, “I see men, but they look like trees, walking.” Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
Vision is far more than seeing an image; our amazing brains process that information to give us perception far beyond what a simple camera can do. Jesus healed this man’s blindness in two stages, first restoring his sight and then restoring his perception. Even if we have perfect vision and are able to perceive the world and especially the people around us, He may see them differently. How could our world change if we are able to see other people as He does?
Even though we see as “in a mirror dimly,” help us to keep our eyes on You that we may see others as You see them.
