The blood shall be a sign.
Exodus 12:13, ‘And the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.’
The idea of being protected by sacrificing a lamb without blemish makes no sense in the eyes of the world. Applying blood from that lamb to the doorposts and lintel seems foolish to the wisdom of the world. Yet it is the wisdom of God and the Lord’s Passover for His children in Egypt that spared the live of the firstborn. And in Jesus Christ, as the perfect Lamb of God, to as many as receive Him, He gives the right to become children of God. The very idea is of God becoming our perfect sacrifice, of His blood cleansing us, is foolishness in the eyes of the world, but the power of God to save us.
We thank You for Your perfect sacrifice in Jesus Christ, for His perfect sacrifice that we might be Your children forever!
