All her people groan.

Lamentations 1:11-12, All her people groan seeking bread; they have given their precious things for food to restore their lives themselves. “See, O LORD, and look, for I am despised. Is it nothing to all you who pass this way? Look and see if there is any pain like my pain which was severely dealt out to me, which the LORD inflicted on the day of His fierce anger.”

Jesus wept over the city knowing that they had not recognized Him as the bread of life. In our own time, we have a culture where each one does what is right in his own eyes, where many have rejected God. Are we willing to be used by Him to reach others who so desperately need Him whom they do not know? Do we have His compassion to weep over our own city?

Use us to reach those who You are calling to life in our own city in this day, O Lord.
