The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease.

Lamentations 3:19-25, Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness. Surely my soul remembers and is bowed down within me. This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.” The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him.

Even in the midst of terrible trials, there is hope in Him. David knew that it was better to accept chastisement from the Lord than from his enemies. We know as earthly parents the value of discipline for our own children. When hard times come, we know that we can always depend upon Him and that His mercies endure forever. Even in the midst of trouble, am I able to praise Him and remember that His mercy is new every morning?

Even though my circumstances may change, I know that Your lovingkindness never changes; Your mercy is new every morning!
