The promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3:11-14, Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, “The righteous man shall live by faith.” However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, “He who practices them shall live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” — in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

There are those who think that we will be judged according to a cosmic balance scale in which the evil we have done will be compared with the good. Nothing could be more misleading; this is like making an omelet with one foul-smelling, rotten, black egg thinking that no one will notice. Unless we have been perfect in every point of the law, we are without hope in the presence of a Holy God. It is God Himself who has provided all that we need as we come by faith to Jesus Christ, trusting that He has fulfilled the requirements of the law in our place. And He offers us the promise of the Spirit through faith to give us power for today!

Come Holy Spirit, we need Your power for today!
