The predetermined plan.
Acts 2:22-24, “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— this Man, delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. And God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.”
Peter makes it clear that Jesus was no martyr, and that He went to the cross according to God’s plan. And that plan was for us, to do what we can never do: He became sin for us that we can become the righteousness of God. When we come to Christ and accept His amazing grace we are transformed and raised to a new life. The tomb could not hold Jesus and He offers us that same promise, eternal life.
We thank You for doing what we can never do that we can become the righteousness of God by Your great sacrifice, Lord Jesus.
