Work heartily, as for the Lord.
Colossians 3:23-24, Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men; knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
This has been one of our prayers in recent months. It’s easy to put our lives into compartments thinking that some day perhaps we will be called into some kind of ministry. Perhaps He has a ministry right where we are every day, and part of that ministry is to do the best that we can do in every situation. I don’t always like every part of the work I do, but if I can remember to do it all as unto Him, that certainly helps.
Help me to remember to do the best work that I can do as unto You, Lord.
