1 Peter 5:8-9, Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.

We don’t hear much about being in a battle, or about suffering in the life of faith. There are places in this world where there is no doubt about the battle and suffering for faith. We have to recognize that there is an adversary who has no interest in us other than to consume an destroy us. The good news is that when we do resist the devil, he will flee from us, not by any power of our own but by the power of the One who defeated him on the cross.

Thank You for the blood of the lamb that sets us free; help us to be faithful in the word of our testimony for all You have done!
