The God who gives perseverance and encouragement.

Romans 14:4-6, For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus; that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is a good prayer as we read the scripture. He has given us so much, scripture that we may be encouraged that God is in control no matter what happens and scripture that tells us His solution to the problem of sin is found only in Jesus Christ. We can seek His perseverance and encouragement to bring glory to His name in all that we do!

Lord, Grant me the perseverance and encouragement to bring glory to Your name as I read Your scripture and seek You every day.
