The prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14, Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Paul certainly had many regrets for his own past, like most of us. That goes even beyond what we might recognize at first as we come into His light. This is part of the good news; that He has forgiven us for things done and left undone, for things that we don’t even recognize as sin. He calls us to look upward, to keep our eyes on Jesus, to reach forward to what He has in store for us every day! He calls us to this same prize!
We reach for what lies ahead, for the “prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus!”
