Him who has endured such hostility.

Hebrews 12:3, For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart.

Getting discouraged is something that can happen, even when I am spending time in His word, praying and doing my best. I certainly don’t often remember this verse that reminds us of the incredible, unfair and unjustified hostility that Jesus endured as He went to the cross for us. Indeed, few of us have resisted to the “point of shedding blood,” which He freely did for us. He is the only source of strength that has the endurance we need.

We look to You for our endurance O Lord!
