They feared the people.
Luke 20:19, And the scribes and the chief priests tried to lay hands on Him that very hour, and they feared the people; for they understood that He spoke this parable against them.
It’s disturbing to see people so caught up in their own ambitions and systems that they could not see the incredible things that Jesus was doing, nor question their own motives when He spoke parables against them! May we never fear people more than we fear God.
Open my ears that I may hear from You anything that needs to be changed, Lord Jesus. Change my heart, O God!
