Broken to pieces.
Luke 20:17-18, But He looked at them and said, “What then is this that is written, ‘THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone’? Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust.”
Clearly this was directed at the religious leaders who were not only rejecting Jesus but seeking ways to kill Him even then. It is sobering to consider the consequences of rejecting Him. Far better to “fall on that stone” and be broken to pieces than to be crushed to dust!
We don’t naturally like either idea, Lord; but we prefer to fall on Him and be broken than to be crushed to dust!
