Certain ones who trusted in themselves.

Luke 18:9-10, And He also told this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer.”

There are many today who trust in themselves and who view others with contempt. When I come into His presence, I am certain of my need for Him and His grace. Is it so much easier to focus on the failings of others and telling them that they must “get right” than to proclaim His good news, that He is ready for them to come just as they are?

Lord, I put all of my trust in You for my righteousness; keep me humbly focused on telling of Your good news, that others may come to know You!
