No one was found worthy.

Revelation 5:3-4, And no one in heaven, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book, or to look into it. And I began to weep greatly, because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look into it; and one of the elders said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”

Yesterday after our discipleship group meeting, I was out at my car and one of the men, Dennis, who works there came up and wanted to ask me a question about the Bible. Dennis told me that his pastor had refused to bless his marriage, saying that Dennis would never be as holy and perfect as himself! I told him that doesn’t really match what we see in scripture, for “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” When I asked Dennis if there ever was a perfect man, he knew it was Jesus, and he told me he had accepted Jesus and believed that He has saved him. I asked Dennis what does God see when He looks at us, and at first he said a broken and hurting man; and I reminded Dennis that now when God looks at him He sees Jesus! We’re still like the Apostle Paul, recognizing our own deep need as we approach Him, but we can confidently approach His throne of grace, knowing that He has overcome, and that He has imputed His righteousness to us!

Thank You that we are saved by Your perfect sacrifice; renew our minds by the power of Your Spirit, O Lord!

P. S., I also recommended a couple of churches where Dennis could go to hear the
truth of scripture taught!
